ABOUT THE OWNER OF FORM
After earning a BFA in Visual Communication and Illustration, Aimee Bracken dove head first into the graphic design
world. Early in her design career, she was hired by a reputable and award-winning Baltimore design firm who at the
time dealt specifically with clients from the fashion and retail industry. She excelled and was promoted quickly to a
senior art director position and was able to travel to Paris several times for trade shows to see the latest fashion
trends. She art directed fashion photoshoots and designed many fashion related print projects. The photoshoots
trained her to have a keen eye on fit and function while keeping a fashionable vision.
After nearly 17 years in the graphic design field—seven of those years successfully owning and running her own
design business—she decided to start a career in the one area she had always loved most…fashion.
FORM AND FASHION
In 2003, Aimee took the opportunity to take private fashion classes and workshops from a well respected local
designer. The classes included patternmaking, sewing, draping, designing, and fabrication. In addition, she attended
the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City which included coursework in image consulting, fabrication,
and fashion business.
Form, A Designer’s Boutique was created out of a need as an art director. Aimee would go to many client meetings
and wanted appropriately professional clothing but with a creative style. She soon found out that many other
“creative professionals” wanted the same thing and would often get their clothes from New York, DC, or online.
Form has evolved into being a boutique for women who desire that extra something special, women who have a creative side, women who want some edge with their sophistication. Aimee’s hope is to give
attentive honest guidance to women while shopping in a relaxing chic atmosphere. |
